"I will never be good enough."
"I'll never be able to lose all this weight."
"I'm a total failure."
"Nothing good ever happens for me."
From time to time, most of us have negative thoughts like these. Thinking like this can negatively affect our confidence, mood, and outlook, too.
The problem with negative thinking is that it can be a source of self-gratification without us even noticing it. We tend to talk ourselves into believing that we are not good enough, and as an outcome, these thoughts drag us down, not just in our personal lives, but in our relationships and careers as well.
But, once we figure out to intentionally do the opposite and think positively about ourselves, the effect can be just as strong but far more helpful.
So, how can you use affirmations to bring positive change in your life?
What Are Affirmations and Do They Work?
Affirmations are positive statements or phrases that can help you manifest and overcome sabotaging of oneself and negativity. Repeating and believing in them as often as you can, can start you to make positive changes in your daily life.
Repetitive exercises help improve our physical health, and just like that, affirmations are like exercises too, but it helps improve our mind and point of view. These repetitions can reorganize our thinking patterns, and eventually, we can start to think - and act - differently.
Positive affirmations take a lot of regular practice to achieve long-term changes in your way of thinking. Is it scientifically proven? Yes, affirmations work and are backed up by scientific studies. It has been proven that they help active parts of the brain that are connected with self-linked processing and reward.
I AM UNIQUE
You are one of a kind, different in every aspect and no one is exactly like you, that's what it is to be a unique person. Being unique is something that sets you apart from others. Showing and knowing your unique side makes you stand out and it establishes your identity. Remember that being different makes you even more fascinating.
"What sets you apart can sometimes feel like a burden and it's not. And a lot of the time, it's what makes you great." -Emma Stone
I AM LOVED
Sometimes you tend to forget your worth. You question everything you do, especially how can you feel that love you've been longing for. But what you forget is that you don't need to do anything or to prove anything just for you to know that you are worthy to be loved. Because the truth is, loving yourself, even on your worst days, means that you are worthy, you are capable, you are enough and you are loved.
I AM HELPFUL
Seeing yourself as being helpful gives you a sense of purpose. Knowing that you can help doesn't just feel good, but it also helps you boost your self-esteem, that sense of belonging, and you feel connected wherein you start to grow trust. Don't forget that helping is contagious as well!
I AM THANKFUL
Being thankful helps you gain more positive emotions, make good experiences, and build strong relationships. Having a thankful mindset gives a different point of view of things, like when you have a glass of water, instead of saying it's half empty, you'll look at it as half full. You are thankful for the water that is there and didn't worry about the water that isn't.
"Strive to find things to be thankful for, and just look for the good in who you are." - Bethany Hamilton

I AM TALENTED
You are naturally born talented. Whether it be in writing, cooking, sports, science, or even a talent for speaking in a pool of people and a lot more talents to think of. Remember that you are naturally good at something, and comparing what others can do isn't a basis for what you can do. Because we all have different points and zones that we excel at. Showing what you love to do brings you to life. And, keep in mind that being yourself and expressing who you are and what you can do, will somehow allow and inspire others to do the same.
I AM ALWAYS WILLING TO LEARN
Continuous learning is persistence in gaining knowledge not just with your skills and talents, but as well as for your personal development. Each day you'll be able to learn something new about yourself, and being open to new things helps you get grips with your growth as an individual.
I AM CONFIDENT
Knowing that you are confident is a quiet inner reminder that you're capable. But the catch is confidence doesn't always come easy. There comes again the questioning of your worth and that pressure of being perfect. Just remember that nothing's wrong with being confident. You'll feel best about yourself when you start to feel confident and trust me, you'll feel like you can do and accomplish anything you put your heart into.
"As is our confidence, so is our capacity" - William Hazlitt
I BELIEVE IN MYSELF
Just like having confidence, believing in yourself is a key reminder that you can. It is a part of the puzzle of building up your confidence and self-love. Believing in yourself is having faith in your capabilities. Doing so will give you the strength to overcome self-doubt, insecurities, and negative thoughts.

Affirmations have the power to encourage you to work on important things, help you to focus on reaching your goals in life, give you the control to change your negative thinking, help you in obtaining a new belief scheme, and above all, affirmations can reassert the positivity back into your like and help grow your confidence.
